
The Department of Athletics at Wofford College, a member of the Southern Conference, is seeking applications for the Building Manager – Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium position. Wofford College supports 20 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs. This is a full-time position beginning in September 2026 that will require day-to-day office duties and game management responsibilities. The Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium is a 123,000-square-foot facility featuring a 3,400-seat basketball arena and a 500-seat volleyball competition venue. The facility serves as a primary home for Wofford Athletics and hosts intercollegiate competition, practices, camps, and other College events.
Responsibilities
• Manage the maintenance, operations and day-to-day activities of the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium, including ensuring the facility is clean, safe, properly maintained and ready for scheduled activities.
• Manage the building schedule and coordinate the use of the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium for intercollegiate practices, competitions, camps, meetings, special events and other College activities.
• Serve as Event Manager for selected home intercollegiate events.
• Manage the setup and breakdown of all intercollegiate practices, home games, camps and other events held within the facility including the Taraflex volleyball floor.
• Coordinate and manage facility scheduling for coaches' camps, including communication with coaches and camp staff and coordination with other College departments, as necessary.
• Supervise the stadium security team and coordinate security operations for practices, competitions, camps and other events held at the facility.
• Supervise operations staff responsible for athletic facilities and ensure appropriate staffing for scheduled activities.
• Schedule work-study students, including office staffing and selected home contests.
• Coordinate away-game team bus procurement and transportation arrangements for designated Wofford Athletics teams, including securing appropriate transportation providers and managing logistics as needed.
• Act as liaison to selected College departments, including Facilities and Grounds and Custodial Services, to coordinate building maintenance, repairs, cleaning and other facility-related needs.
• Assist with athletic capital improvement projects and facility enhancements as needed.
• Monitor facility policies and operations for compliance with all NCAA, Southern Conference and College rules and regulations.
• Maintain effective communication with coaches, athletics staff, campus partners, vendors and event personnel to ensure successful facility operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience required.
• One to three years of experience in facility operations, event management, athletics administration or a related field required.
• Experience managing athletic facility operations and event management in a collegiate environment preferred.
• Experience coordinating facility scheduling, camps, events, and transportation logistics preferred.
• Experience supervising staff and/or security personnel preferred.
• Experience with Daktronics scoreboard equipment preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with coaches, student-athletes, staff, vendors and campus partners.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required by the athletics schedule.
