Summary
Work closely with WNMU Athletics administrators and the Athletic Director to support the Head Golf Coach while ensuring alignment with NCAA, Lone Star Conference, and institutional guidelines.
Duties
Teach/instruct student-athletes in their designated sport
Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of game and practice preparations.
Mentor and monitor the student-athlete's academic progress.
Evaluate student-athletes academically and athletically.
Assist in planning and implementing pre/post workout program.
Assist with community service planning and implementation.
Recruit, retain, and graduate quality student-athletes for Western New Mexico University.
Successful candidates must adhere to all NCAA and institutional guidelines, policies, and rules. Demonstrate professional behavior while operating with integrity.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Head Coach.
Education/Requirements
Bachelor's degree required. Acceptance of Western New Mexico University Graduate Program and maintain good academic standing. Relative athletics knowledge in college athletics. Must have a drivers license.

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Skill in examining current operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Ability to plan, assess, and evaluate programs. Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues. Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals. Skill in the configuration and use of computerized database programs. Ability to provide leadership and guidance to administrative support staff and/or students. Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff. Knowledge of basic degree program content. Knowledge of rules governing residency in New Mexico for tuition purposes. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community.
Working Conditions/ Physical Demands (With or Without Accommodations)
Normal office, indoor and outdoor environments. Work in an environment subject to frequent travel with exposure to varying climatic conditions. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. Ability to handle outdoor conditions for most of the work time. Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays. Required to travel for long periods of time. Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, sit on floor and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. Must be able to visually and auditory assess situations to insure health and safety. Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication. Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions. Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting. Will be required to work additional hours or days depending on circumstances.

$2,500 per semester ($5,000 per academic year)
