Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and a Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire an individual for the position of Assistant Director of Development for the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation (HAF).  This is a 12-month, full-time position.  This position will report directly to the Executive Director for HAF.  Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA and the NCAA.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive.  Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

  • Focus on securing philanthropic gifts and expanding annual giving programs to drive greater levels of support for the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation and WKU Athletics

  • Identify and solicit new prospects for premium seating and hospitality areas

  • Collaborate with the communications team to create graphics and various printed materials for events, social media posts, fundraising initiatives, etc.

  • Assist in managing all customer service functions including incoming/outgoing calls and emails

  • Coordinate fundraising and stewardship events, including tailgates, receptions, and other engagement activities for WKU Athletics.

  • Work closely with coaches and staff to plan and execute team-specific fundraising initiatives and donor experiences

  • Collaborate with the communications and marketing teams to develop and implement a comprehensive communications plan for assigned sports

  • Oversee hospitality areas on football and basketball gamedays

  • Update and monitor the HAF website and social media

  • Develop and coordinate an annual solicitation and renewal calendar

  • All other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Experience in Advance donor software along with Archtics/Ticketmaster ticketing system

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills with individuals and groups

  • Must be a goal-oriented person who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office & Outlook

  • The duties and responsibilities of this position must be performed in a competent manner following the highest standards for leadership, professionalism, integrity, accountability, responsibility, cooperation and customer service


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends including football and men's and women's basketball home games
