Athletics Operations and Facilities Coordinator

Responsibilities:  The Athletic Operations and Facilities Coordinator reports to the Athletic Director and supervises student Interns and student workers during the year. This position also works collaboratively with the Athletics Department, Facilities Services, Accounting Services, and all away teams and staff visiting Western. The Athletic Operations and Facilities Coordinator is a full-time professional that will lead the Athletic Department facilities for the University, assist in Conference and Event Services, and assist with Athletic Special Events.

This person will be the point person for scheduling of all athletic facilities and fields.  Will need to coordinate with all teams, campus groups, and outside groups.  Assist in all athletic facility capital projects, renovations and retrofits.  Also will be the main liaison to Facility Services for daily facility maintenance and upkeep.  Directly in charge of all home events, game day operations and promotional events, including concessions, supplies, and ticketing, and manages VIP hospitality services. They will also establish and maintain client relations with both internal and external customers and Western stakeholders. Conduct site visits and tours. Meet, greet and provide excellent support service prior to, during, and after events.

In addition to excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills the Athletic Operations and Facilities Coordinator will exhibit qualities of emotional maturity, genuineness, self-confidence, common sense and good judgment. This person should also possess the ability to make good, consistent and fair decisions based on available information as well as to be able to work with cross-functional teams and to foster teamwork.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree . Ability to support significant evening and weekend work.  Self-motivated, detailed, organized and initiative necessary. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent customer service. Two years’ experience working in facility and event management. A current valid driver’s license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:  Master’s degree in a related field. Two or more years of intercollegiate athletic administration. Experience and skills in event planning and management, facilities management, and student staff supervision. Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Office suite, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), etc. CPR and First Responder certified.

Compensation:  $51,500 annual salary. This position is FLSA exempt. Western offers an excellent benefits package including shared premiums for a comprehensive health insurance plan, dental insurance, retirement plan, life insurance, and other insurance options. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
