The West Coast Conference was formed in 1952 and has evolved and grown to become a nationally recognized and competitive force in Division I intercollegiate athletics. Role Summary
The West Coast Conference is seeking a team oriented professional to be the Assistant Director, Creative Content Producer. This role will report to the Senior Director, Social Content and Marketing.
Responsibilities include:
· Content Creation across all Platforms: Develop and produce a variety of content formats, including videos, social media posts, infographics, long and short form programming.
· Content Strategist: Develop and implement content strategies to align with the conference’s brand identity and goals.
· Collaboration: Work with various departments to ensure consistent and effective content, including internal communications team, WCC sponsorship partner Van Wagner, and sports media partners.
· Social Media: Manage content calendar and grow the conference’s social media presence, creating engaging content and interacting with fans and stakeholders.
· Content Design: Create high-quality static and motion graphics, and creative content that emphasizes the conference’s brand.
· Content Acquisition: Source and acquire content from various sources, including student-athletes, coaches, and other key stakeholders.
· Production: Develop and produce short and long-form content, including but not limited to podcast programming, highlights and recaps, feature stories, and PSAs that align with the West Coast Conference’s cultural messaging.
Skills
• Strong copywriting, editing, and video production skills.
• Familiarity with production tools, social media platforms and content management systems.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of sports media and college athletics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compliance
• Ensure conference operations in areas of responsibility comply with NCAA and WCC policies.
Student-Athlete Experience
• Ensure Student-Athlete experience and well-being is a priority in all Conference initiatives.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of social media platforms.
• Strong writing, editing, and video production skills.
• Familiarity with production tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
• Knowledge of sports media and college athletics industry trends.
• Strong understanding of social media tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Travel requirements
15-30% travel
Salary
$60,000 – $68,000, commensurate with experience.
Work Location
Hybrid with San Bruno, CA base.
