Assistant Athletic Trainer

Washington State University Athletics Medicine is hiring for an Assistant Athletic Trainer. In this role, you will provide comprehensive health care services for Cross Country and Track & Field student‑athletes, as well as other assigned sports. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine and in collaboration with Team Physicians, you will coordinate and deliver care focused on injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.

You will play an integral role in supporting student‑athlete well‑being by ensuring care is delivered efficiently, professionally, and in alignment with university standards. In addition, you will contribute to the development of future professionals by assisting with the clinical education, supervision, and mentoring of Athletic Training students within the accredited Athletic Training education program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and BOC Certification by time of hire.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain within two months of hire, a Washington State Athletic Trainer License.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Report per University policy for driving University vehicles and transporting student-athletes, at time of hire.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends.

  • Ability to frequently travel with assigned teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in related field.

  • Work experience within intercollegiate athletic training services.

  • Work experience within Division I level of athletic training services.

  • Work experience that demonstrates the necessary skills to successfully supervise Athletic Training Students (ATS).

  • Work experience that demonstrates ability to provide clinical ATS instruction.

  • Work experience that demonstrates ability to work successfully with a variety of students.

  • Work experience that demonstrates strong verbal and written communications skills.
