
Waldorf University, an NAIA university and part of the GPAC Conference, located in Forest City, Iowa is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Football Coach. This is a full-time, benefit eligible and primarily 10-month (End of July/first of August through May annually) position with limited time commitments during June and July to complete any ongoing recruitment activities, representation at orientation day and Athletic department fundraising event(s), as well as monitoring responding to email or messages as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage assigned game-day responsibilities, review and prepare film breakdown, scouting/game preparation, and hold position meetings.
Instruction on strategy, fundamentals, including psychological skills training. Script situations and prepare effective practice schedules. Assist with off-season speed and conditioning development.
Identify, contact, and recruit quality student-athletes. Build relationships with high school programs, coaches, and counselors; Maintain accurate recruiting contact records and work closely with Admissions and Financial Aid to assist in the process.
Implement strategies for retention of student-athletes.
Mentor student-athletes for success both on and off the field. Must be committed to the development of the student-athlete physically, mentally, spiritually, and morally.
Assist with academic and university responsibilities and development of players both on and off the field.
Ensure adherence/enforcement to NAIA, conference, university, and team rules.
All other duties designated by the Head Coach.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
Successful experience coaching at the college level preferred.
Proven ability to recruit quality football student-athletes.
Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
Ability to organize and motivate student-athletes to maximum performance level in sports and academic achievements.
Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
