Graduate Intern- Field Hockey and Women's Flag Football

Just 15 minutes from the beach, Virginia Wesleyan offers a tuition waiver for courses in the graduate program and a stipend for our graduate interns.

Principle Duties: Field Hockey 

• Assist in all aspects of on-field coaching  

• Assist in planning, organizing, directing and implementing practice and game plans, focusing on player development 

• Assist in all aspects of recruitment  

• Organize and execute fundraising efforts and community service events  

• Assist with clinic and camps on campus 

• Administrative tasks such as organizing travel plans, meals and lodging, team apparel, etc.  

Principles Duties: Women’s Flag Football  

• Assist in recruitment of student-athletes  

• Organize and execute press releases for the inaugural program, using social media and connecting with local businesses in the area. Create and actively update all social media accounts  

• Organize and execute fundraising efforts and community service events  

• The women's flag football position includes mostly administrative duties: scheduling, travel, lodging, team apparel, etc. 

Required Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree by date of appointment  

• Collegiate and/or international playing or coaching experience at a competitive level 

• Strong attention to detail and communication skills  

• Knowledge of the NCAA and ODAC field hockey rules and regulations
