Overview

Reporting to the Athletics Broadcast Engineer, this role supports the management, production, and transmission of live sporting events, studio programming, and special events.

This position plays a key role in delivering broadcasts across ESPN+, linear networks, and in-venue videoboard productions, while maintaining and operating all broadcast and audio systems.


Key Responsibilities

Broadcast & Engineering

  • Serve as Engineer in Charge for live broadcasts and video board shows

  • Oversee control room and venue setup, including equipment deployment and configuration

  • Manage broadcast infrastructure including routers, servers, and studio systems

  • Maintain and troubleshoot all broadcast and audio/video systems

  • Support transmission workflows across ESPN+ and linear platforms

  • Maintain videoboard systems and in-venue display operations

  • Act as technical lead for event crews and ensure high-quality production execution

Operations & Collaboration

  • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners

  • Provide technical support and customer service to teams and stakeholders

  • Contribute to strategic enhancements of broadcast workflows and systems

Staffing & Administration

  • Recruit, train, and supervise freelance staff and interns

  • Manage scheduling and payroll operations for production crews


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience

  • Strong background in broadcast engineering, signal flow, and live production environments

Skills

  • Knowledge of video/audio systems, routing, and transmission

  • Ability to operate in fast-paced live production environments

  • Strong communication and leadership skills
