
Reporting to the Athletics Broadcast Engineer, this role supports the management, production, and transmission of live sporting events, studio programming, and special events.
This position plays a key role in delivering broadcasts across ESPN+, linear networks, and in-venue videoboard productions, while maintaining and operating all broadcast and audio systems.
Serve as Engineer in Charge for live broadcasts and video board shows
Oversee control room and venue setup, including equipment deployment and configuration
Manage broadcast infrastructure including routers, servers, and studio systems
Maintain and troubleshoot all broadcast and audio/video systems
Support transmission workflows across ESPN+ and linear platforms
Maintain videoboard systems and in-venue display operations
Act as technical lead for event crews and ensure high-quality production execution
Coordinate with internal departments and external partners
Provide technical support and customer service to teams and stakeholders
Contribute to strategic enhancements of broadcast workflows and systems
Recruit, train, and supervise freelance staff and interns
Manage scheduling and payroll operations for production crews
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience
Strong background in broadcast engineering, signal flow, and live production environments
Skills
Knowledge of video/audio systems, routing, and transmission
Ability to operate in fast-paced live production environments
Strong communication and leadership skills
