Senior Associate AD - Capital Projects, Facilities & Events

Under the direction of the Deputy Athletics Director for External Engagement & Revenue Generation, the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Capital Projects, Facilities & Events will support and enhance the mission of the Vanderbilt Athletics Department.  This position will serve as the supervisor of the following areas: capital projects, facilities, event management, championships, and venue management.

Vanderbilt University’s Athletics Department prepares student-athletes to become leaders and champions in life by placing the highest values on integrity, character, sportsmanship, and victory. Vanderbilt is a charter member of the Southeastern Conference and is the conference's only private school.  The university fields 17 varsity teams, 15 of which compete in the Southeastern Conference.  
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and leadership for assigned areas of responsibility, which include capital projects, facilities, event management/operations, championships, and venue management.

  • Work closely with department leadership to plan and execute facility development, including space planning, facility master planning, renovations and capital projects.

  • Lead in the development execution of policies and procedures relative to Vanderbilt Athletics facilities with an emphasis on operational efficiency and quality.

  • Lead and manage the facilities, events and operations staff that includes full-time exempt staff, full-time non-exempt staff, part-time hourly staff, and student workers.

  • Conduct all business in accordance with department, University, conference, and NCAA regulations.

  • Demonstrate an active and engaged commitment to efficient stewardship of University resources (operational, financial, and human), in a manner consistent with University objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Deputy Athletics Director for External Engagement & Revenue Generation and/or Athletics Senior Staff.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is necessary; Master’s degree is preferred.

  • 10+ years relevant experience is necessary.

  • 5+ years management experience in NCAA Division I intercollegiate Athletics or equivalent is necessary.

  • Extensive supervisory experience is necessary.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Vanderbilt University engages a third party to provide continuous, up-to-date notifications regarding negative changes to motor vehicle records.
