The primary function of the Assistant Director of HR Operations is to oversee and execute assigned areas within the HR Operations unit within the Department of Athletics and Student Recreation. This position reports to the Associate Athletics Director for HR Operations and will be a partner in developing, implementing and evaluating HR policies, programs and procedures, as well as managing several key functions for the department such as student employment and the volunteer process.

Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and execute all areas of student employment for the Department of Athletics and Student Recreation
Develop and execute internal processes to best support department hiring managers in the area of student employment
Conduct informational sessions for hiring managers to effectively communicate current processes and best practices
Monitor student employment payroll, assisting with issues that arise as needed
Troubleshoot all Oracle issues on behalf of the department’s employees, working with university HR as needed
Work in conjunction with the athletics compliance office to ensure that all items related to personnel are in compliance with NCAA and SEC rules
Coordinate employment efforts for assigned sports camps and clinics
Ensure all camp/clinic employees are cleared to work prior to the start date
Confirm Protection of Minors compliance for assigned camps
Work in conjunction with compliance to ensure all sport camp employees and payroll is in accordance with NCAA and SEC regulations
Coordinate the department’s volunteer process, staying compliant with all departmental and university policies, while also ensuring NCAA and SEC requirements are met as well
Manage compliance with Protection of Minors training for both Athletics and Recreation & Wellness as dictated by policies from the Office of Risk Management
Coordinate all taxable benefit items for payroll as requested
Work collaboratively to execute staff engagement opportunities throughout the year
Assist with payroll for both bi-weekly and monthly employees as needed
Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is necessary.
Prior experience with collegiate and/or professional athletics is preferred.
Prior experience with HR processes is preferred.
General knowledge of labor laws is necessary.
High level of organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities is necessary.
Ability to handle and communicate confidential and sensitive information is necessary.
Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations are necessary.
