Position Summary
The Athletics Administration Graduate Assistant at Upper Iowa University reports directly to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for assisting the director in the planning and execution of all aspects and facets of a successful athletics program at the NCAA Division II level. The Upper Iowa Athletics program oversees 19 NCAA Division II sport programs as well as the Athletic Training Program and Strength and Conditioning and game operations. The graduate assistant will ensure compliance with all Department, University, NCAA, NSIC, MIAA and GLIAC policies, procedures, and regulations.
Position Responsibilities
Assisting with management of the day-to-day operations of the office.
Assist in the operations of the Compliance office.
Coordinating home event operations.
Communication with the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA Officials
Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must be admitted into a graduate program at Upper Iowa University and maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0.
Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree.
Must have an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicant should be strong computer skills and be an excellent communicator.
Periods of prolonged standing/sitting.
Work at night and/or weekends based on conclusion of Upper Iowa athletic events.
Raising, lowering, and/or lifting objects from one level to another of under 40 lbs.
Potential exposure to loud noise (i.e., music, crowds, etc.)
