Media Relations Assistant

Basic Function:  The University of Wyoming is now seeking candidates for a postgraduate media relations assistant for the upcoming 2024-25 academic year focusing on athletics communications.

                                   

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

The athletics communications position will assist in daily operations of the Athletic Communications Department and will be the primary media contact for selected sports. The individual will also assist with gameday duties at other athletic events.  Evening and weekend hours are required for this position.  Pay Rate:  $18-$25.00/hour – depending on experience.  Position will pay $20,000 over 10 months. 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Education:   bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program. 

·         Experience with NCAA Stats and experience in writing press releases

·         Prior Athletics communications experience. 

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

·         Working knowledge of Statcrew, NCAA LiveStats, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and social media.

·         At least two years working in communications office as an intern at collegiate level.

·         Experience with SIDEARM websites is helpful but not a requirement.

·         Strong writing and communications skills
