Additional hours will be required to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Travel is occasionally required. This job is not suitable for remote work and is expected to work regular on-site hours.
Purpose
Provide support with the daily operations of a comprehensive risk management and compliance program for Texas Athletics and support compliance efforts related to College Athlete NIL Litigation, No. 4:20-cv-03919-CW (N.D. Cal.) (“House Settlement”) implementation.
Responsibilities
Rules Compliance Support Texas Athletics with the daily operations of rules compliance primarily for NCAA bylaws 11 (personnel) and 13 (recruiting), provide secondary support in other assigned NCAA bylaws, Texas Athletics or University policies and/or state and federal regulations. All assigned duties are designed to ensure the Athletics Risk Management and Compliance Services office continuously assesses and demonstrates that The University of Texas at Austin meets the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s definition of institutional control and adheres to applicable Texas Athletics, Conference or University policies and/or state and federal regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, promoting a culture of compliance, ensuring leadership is aware of the content and operation of the compliance program, providing rule or policy interpretations (15%), providing education and training (15%), monitoring (30%), auditing (5%), developing policies and procedures (5%), preparing rule waivers (5%), and investigating and reporting infractions (5%).
Risk Management Provide support in the assessment and identification of risks within Texas Athletics. Assist with internal/external reviews and audits, including support in the implementation of recommendations in all areas of responsibility.
Settlement Implementation and Monitoring Support the compliance-related efforts involving the implementation of the House Settlement. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with student-athlete disclosures of name, image, likeness (NIL) agreements in the designated system (NIL Go), processes associated with the third-party fair market value analysis and the determination of Associated Entities, and any arbitration or enforcement processes as needed.

Bachelor’s degree. Experience working with NCAA compliance issues in an athletics department, conference office, NCAA national office and/or other similar organization. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform at a high level of accomplishment. Demonstrates excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills. Excellent PC skills using standard office automation software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Smartsheet). Upholds high ethical standards and core values, maintains integrity, has professional demeanor and understands professional boundaries. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Master’s degree or other relevant advanced degree. At least one-year experience working with NCAA compliance issues in an athletics department, conference office, NCAA national office and/or other similar organization. Working knowledge of NCAA and other athletics compliance-related software systems (e.g., NCAA Apps, Teamworks, etc.). Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform at a high level of accomplishment.
