Assistant Athletic Director for Event and Facilities Operations

The Assistant Athletic Director for Event and Facilities Operations implements and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of projects within area of assigned responsibility.

Duties include:

  • Management of events at the UT Dallas soccer fields, baseball field, softball field and tennis complex and all intercollegiate events inside UTD Activities Center

  • Acts as liaison between the department and internal or external customers, with an emphasis on customer experience, logistics, scheduling, supervision/training of support staff, game management, and event setup/breakdown

  • Responsible for hiring of third party for restroom maintenance of outside complex

  • Responsible for all Facilities Maintenance work orders

  • Assist with budgeting decisions and purchasing as it relates to event management

  • Development and implementation of revenue-generating activities relative to facility use

  • Facility project management, including contract management, record keeping, and project oversight

  • Assists in developing and implementing short and long-range plans of facilities

  • Reviews and initiates documentation relating to projects or events and needs specific to assigned area(s)

Bachelor’s degree; experience in athletic administrative functions. Knowledge, skills and abilities to include NCAA/conference rules and legislation, event management, athletic budget development-management experience, knowledge of athletic sport functions, employee training and supervisory experience. Preferred - 3 years related experience and/or training to the essential duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge and commitment to NCAA Division II rules.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift and move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud.
