Content Creator (Football)

Job Description

This position will serve as a content creator for Tennessee Football within the Football creative team. The primary function of this role is ideating, creating, and editing video content for all @Vol_Football social media platforms, current student-athletes, and recruiting. This position will be responsible for collaborating with 151 Creative, Strategic Communications, Fan Experience, and VFL Films on creative ideas to help build the Tennessee Football brand. Teamwork, communication, cinematography, and video editing are critical skills for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all members of the Football Creative Team to enhance the brand of Tennessee Football through social media video content, shortform video content, assist in longform storytelling content, in-venue jumbotron entertainment and recruiting. This cinematographer will help tell stories of our student-athletes, the program and staff through various channels and forms of video content. 

  • Promote the Tennessee brand creatively while staying within the brand guidelines by aiming to create best-in-class content and set the industry standard high.

  • Cinematography: Shoot games, practices, and interviews using creative videography. This person should have experience with high-end camera equipment as well as a general knowledge of the game of football.

  • Work with the football creative team to ideate and execute content shoots for recruiting official visits.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience: Experience in video editing or as a content creator with a collegiate-level or professional sports team.

  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Ability to work with others in a challenging, deadline-driven environment. 

    • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems without drop-off in content creation.

    • Knowledge to ensure brand consistency and uniformity in regard to logo and color usage.

    • Highly skilled in operating Adobe CC video editing software, ex: Premiere, After Effects, etc. 

    • Skilled in sports videography and both short & long-form editing for sports. 

    • Ability to exercise sound discretionary judgment, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams on the coordination of projects.

    • Knowledge of all social media platforms, general best practices for each, & ability to recognize current trends in digital and social media.

    • Knowledge of various camera types and formats.

    • Broad-based knowledge of video production such as original content production.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: Experience working directly in a Division I FBS football program and/or creative team.

  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

    • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

    • Ability to adapt to ever-changing workloads and deadlines and work well within the team environment.

    • Ability to create compelling and engaging social and digital content.
