
This position reports to the Deputy AD and is a member of the External Operations team with duties that include, but are not limited to:
Provides daily oversight for all areas of marketing and promotions, directly supervising one (1) full-time exempt staff member within the unit
Develops and executes annual marketing plans for all assigned sports/events
Creates and implements marketing strategies to help increase attendance and revenue for UTC Athletics, as well as enhance the fan experience and gameday atmosphere for home contests, including but not limited to digital marketing and social media
Develops event scripts for home contests, and assists with various gameday functions for assigned sports
Increases engagement with both the campus and community in an effort to grow support
Coordinates all advertising and media buys, along with print and digital collateral design (posters, magnets, etc.)
Establishes annual goals and provides guidance to direct report who oversees the Scrappy's Kids Club, the official kids club of the Chattanooga Mocs
Assists with the fulfillment of sold inventory by Mocs Sports Properties, the 3rd Party Multimedia Rights Holder for UTC Athletics
Designs and implements all marketing activities for the Southern Conference and NCAA Championship events hosted by UTC
Performs event and gameday operations
Provides oversight of the spirit programs to include UTC Cheer, the Sugar Mocs and the Ladies of G.O.L.D.
Performs other duties as assigned

Must possess strong communications skills, both oral and written
Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines
Ability to maintain positive relationships with external and internal constituencies and provide excellent customer service

Minimum:
Requires a bachelor’s degree
Three years of experience in the areas of marketing, promotions, and/or public relations – collegiate environment preferred
Experience working with Adobe Creative software (I.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
Experience working with Microsoft software (I.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience operating music and writing scripts for home athletic contests
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Preferred:
Master’s degree
Familiarity with Southern Conference and NCAA rules and regulations
Experience utilizing Oracle Eloqua email marketing software
Digital marketing and social media promotion experience
Experience and knowledge of Bandit Lites, in-game lighting system
