Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Operations & Sales

Job Summary
Plans and manages all aspects of ticket operations which includes coordinating the purchase, sale, and distribution of tickets to the university campus and general public for the Athletic Department and the university. Involved with developing price points and sales strategies for all ticketed athletic events and other revenue-generating opportunities. Assists in the management and direction of the ticket sales team to increase ticket revenue across all ticketed sports. Oversees ticket-related game-day operations for home contests, including complete set up, and breakdown of hardware and software. This position is fan-facing and is charged with creating and executing a seamless experience for customers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Lead the Southern Miss Ticket Office for daily and event operations

  2. Manage all aspects of Paciolan and Access Management which includes the generating of attendance reports for audit proposes, setup of events in Access Management and Paciolan, setup and programming of ticket scanners, and ensuring all points in between are functional on game days for all ticketed athletic events.

  3. Lead email campaigns utilizing Paciolan/Eloqua to inform, generate leads, and transact sales.

  4. Develop and manage ticket office policies, procedures and forms in compliance with NCAA, Conference, and University of Southern Mississippi standards. Trains and supervises all ticket operations staff concerning use of ticketing system, policies and procedures, as well as customer service techniques to assure the ticket office staff acts with courtesy and decorum in contacts with the public.

  5. Supervises and assists with, as needed, the completion of all reports by the Director of Ticketing Operations, including but not limited to: deposits, reconciliation of budget reports, monthly sales tax, inventory of ticket stock, customer demographics, overall athletic ticket sales reports, lead lists for ticket sales staff, season ticket sales reports, and any other related reports as requested.

  6. Manages the Paciolan ticketing system to ensure that all seating and parking locations have been properly assigned to all patrons including season ticket holders, donors, and the general public. Creates, manages and edits the Athletic Ticket Office website as well as all ticket sales and renewal forms.

  7. Work in collaboration with the Athletic Development office to ensure all donation requirements have been met in relation to the purchase of season tickets.

  8. Serves as primary event ticket manager for football and baseball. Duties include supervision of ticket selling, administration of tickets and will call, handling any customer services issues that may arise, and determination of event attendance.

  9. Assists the Associate Athletic Director of Revenue Generation in managing, guiding, and directing the ticket sales team to meet desired revenue and ticket goals and increase revenue and tickets sold across all ticketed sports.

  10. Collaborates with revenue generation team to develop new ideas to help generate new revenue for Southern Miss Athletics.

  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, marketing, sport management, finance, accounting, or other related field. Two to four years of ticket operations or similar experience at a university or other comparable organization.
