Position Summary:

The Senior Vice President, Athletics Corporate Partnerships serves as the executive leader responsible for the strategic direction, revenue generation, and operational oversight of all corporate partnerships for University of South Florida Athletics. This position provides leadership across partnership sales, activation, and marketing, with a primary focus on driving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening partner relationships, and delivering innovative, integrated partnership solutions. The Senior Vice President acts as a key member of the Athletics senior leadership team, advising on partnership strategy, market trends, and long-term revenue planning. This role is instrumental in maximizing commercial opportunities associated with the new on-campus stadium and elevating the overall brand and fan experience. The position oversees a high-performing team and ensures alignment with institutional priorities, NCAA guidelines, and University policies.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a strategic advisor to Athletics leadership, including the Chief Business Officer, on corporate partnership strategy, revenue forecasting, and industry trends.

  • Provides executive oversight of all partnership sales and activation functions, ensuring alignment with departmental and University goals.

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive corporate partnerships strategy focused on new business development, partner retention, and revenue growth.

  • Leads the full partnership sales lifecycle, including prospecting, proposal development, negotiation, and execution of high-value, multi-year agreements.

  • Designs and implements integrated partnership platforms across digital, in-venue, campus, NIL, community, and media assets.

  • Maximizes commercial opportunities associated with major initiatives, including the development of the on-campus stadium and related revenue streams.

  • Establishes and monitors annual partnership revenue goals and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring consistent achievement of targets.

  • Oversees the recruitment, supervision, and development of corporate partnerships staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

  • Ensures best-in-class fulfillment of partnership agreements, including delivery of contractual assets, client service, and return on investment.

  • Collaborates cross-functionally with internal units including marketing, communications, operations, ticketing, and external relations to execute integrated partnership initiatives.

  • Oversees the development and execution of partnership programs that incorporate Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities in compliance with NCAA and institutional policies.

  • Utilizes CRM systems, analytics platforms, and emerging technologies to manage pipeline activity, monitor performance, and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Ensures accurate documentation, reporting, and tracking of partnership activities and revenue performance.

  • Collaborates with finance, legal, and campus stakeholders to ensure partnership agreements are fiscally sound and compliant with University policies.

  • Represents University of South Florida Athletics with external partners, corporate stakeholders, and the broader business community.

  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Athletics department.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business administration, marketing, sports management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in corporate partnerships, sponsorship sales, or revenue generation.

  • Demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams and achieving significant revenue targets.

  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex, high-value, multi-year agreements.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.

 

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.

• SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
• A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
• (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
• (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
• (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
• (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in collegiate athletics, professional sports, multimedia rights, or related industry.

  • Experience with large-scale capital projects, including new facility or stadium development.

  • Established network of corporate partners and sponsorship decision-makers.

  • Experience integrating NIL opportunities into partnership strategies.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and data analytics tools.
