ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The USF Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is an integral part of USF and its mission by sponsoring a diverse and nationally competitive Division I athletic program. The program serves several significant constituencies, including its student-athletes, who are students first. The most important priority of the program is the progress of the student-athletes toward graduation. Other priorities include the health, fitness and emotional development of student-athletes at USF.
Intercollegiate Athletics provide a sense of collegiality, allegiance, and pride for students, staff, faculty, alumni, boosters and the greater Tampa Bay community at large and serves as a focal point for their support. Within the framework of competitive excellence, Intercollegiate Athletics at USF are also a contact vehicle leading supporters to a greater awareness of the University's mission, academic programs and prominence as an educational institution.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will establish a dedicated university employee responsible for the usage and maintenance of athletic venue videboards. Employee will serve as the primary contact for all videoboard shows and related needs. This includes, but not limited to, loading, testing, and system maintenance. Works closely with Athletics Marketing, Creative and Sponsorship staff on video board content and sponsor fulfillment needs. Collaborates with the Broadcast Operations, Information Technology, Facilities and Event Management staff members to ensure high-level in-venue productions. Responsible for upgrades and maintenance checks on all related systems and control room equipment. Recruits, trains, schedules and supervises a team of students and freelancers in the execution of all videoboard related functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as the primary contact for all videoboard shows and related needs at athletic department venues. This includes, but not limited to, loading and testing of creative content, and regular system maintenance.
Works closely with Athletics Marketing, Creative and Sponsorship staffs on video board content and corporate partner fulfillment needs.
Collaborates with the Broadcast Operations, Information Technology, Facilities and Event Management staff members to ensure high-level in-venue productions.
Responsible for upgrades and maintenance checks on all related systems and control room equipment.
Recruits, trains, schedules and supervises a team of students and freelancers in the execution of all videoboard related functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree plus three years related exempt level experience; or a Master's degree and 1 year, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in broadcast, communications, journalism or a related field. Prior experience working with a NCAA Division I athletic program or professional sports team is preferred. Experience with computer programs such as Motion Rocket, Ross Xpression, Daktronics Show Control and Adobe Creative Cloud or similar is preferred.
