We are seeking an experienced and dynamic fundraising professional with a demonstrated history of securing major gifts. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of approximately 100 high-value donors, collaborate directly with athletic teams, and spearhead special projects that drive the success of our program. 

Director of Development for Gamecock Club. Reports to Chief Development Officer / Senior Associate AD, responsible for generating funds through private support to benefit the Athletics master plan. Develop and present comprehensive proposals for individuals, corporations, foundations, etc.

Duties include:

Qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects who are targeted for gifts from $25K – $500K+ to be donated to support athletics facilities and program initiatives. 50%

Assist the Chief Development Officer/Senior Associate AD with internal capital campaign initiatives, including but not limited to volunteer recruitment and management, marketing materials, campaign event planning and attendance, financial reporting, donor stewardship, etc. 20%

Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 donors/prospects who are at different stages (primary, secondary, suspect, stewardship) in their ability to make a 5-year campaign commitment. 10%

Execute an average of 20 substantial in-person meetings per month that attempt to move potential donors closer to making a commitment. 10%

Fully participate in the University’s prospect management system, documenting all call activity and applying for relationship status w/ donors through the central development office’s Blackbaud database. 5%

Represent the Department of Athletics in a positive fashion by interacting well with donors, fans, alumni and community members. Maintain institutional integrity through compliance with NCAA, SEC and USC policies, rules and regulations. 5%
