The SCPP Graduate Assistantship program aims to equip talented, deserving, and aspiring graduate assistant candidates planning to enter a long-term career in Intercollegiate Athletics with comprehensive experience in the field. Embracing principles of inclusive excellence, the program provides opportunities for education, cultivation, and preparation for leadership roles in athletic administration.
Program Details:
Eligibility: The SCPP graduate assistantship will be awarded to qualified graduate students admitted into the University of Oklahoma graduate studies program. Candidates must be interested in furthering their education, show commitment to fostering opportunity, and express a desire to pursue a career in intercollegiate athletics. Most participants have chosen the Adult & Higher Education, Intercollegiate Athletics Administration Graduate Degree program through the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education. Candidates are selected based on their undergraduate experience, extracurricular activities, prior job experience and their commitment to contributing to the field of athletic administration both in values and practice.
Duration: The Assistantship is a two-year program (four semesters) beginning in August of each academic year. The program is designed to create an opportunity to rotate through various areas of the athletic department.
Rotation and Administrative Options: Academics, Athletic Medicine, Communiations, Compliance, Digital Media, Equipment, Event Management, Internal Operations, Marketing, Nutrition, People, Culture and Belonging, Psychological Resources for OU Students (PROS), Student Athlete Well-Being, Sooner Club, Sooner Vision, Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning, Ticket Office. Sports-specific rotations will be reviewed case-by-case for second year students.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree. Must be current or incoming full-time OU Graduate Student. Applicants need not be admitted into the Graduate College to apply. However, no offer of employment will be extended without verification of Graduate College and program acceptance and enrollment. Please be advised of Graduate College and intended program deadlines which may be sooner than graduate assistant application deadlines.
