The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department is looking for candidates that have a passion for both collegiate athletics and creative media production. The Associate Director of Video Content is a highly skilled video producer that is responsible for creating content that drives fan affinity, promotes the Oklahoma brand and generates engagement through digital media. Reporting directly to the Director of Video Content, the Associate Director of Video Content will serve as the primary point of contact for one of OU’s premiere sports, create football specific content, and assist all sports programs with content across multiple platforms as needed. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of cinematography, editing and post-production skill. A heavy emphasis will be placed on the candidate’s demo reel.
Essential Functions:
Cinematography and Storytelling
Adobe Creative Suite or similar post-production software
Supervise and manage students in the student production assistant program
Provide instruction, teaching material and hands-on training for undergraduate students in the position
Collaborate cross-departmentally with external staff and athletic department constituents
Perform day-to-day technical and logistical problem solving to further the mission of SoonerVision and the OU Athletics department
Work closely with assigned sports to produce video content across multiple forward-facing platforms including, but not limited to, social media, big screen, and television
Collaborate with the creative content team, in addition to producing video content, the team of creators produce select live productions and studio shows that air on SoonerVision on ESPN+ in conjunction with ESPN guidelines
Create motion graphics, game recaps, player profiles, hype videos, major award videos, post-game edits, and other media for distribution across multiple media platforms
Capture practice, in-game, and other related content for the assigned sport
Perform various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position
