Head Baseball Coach

The University of North Georgia, a NCAA Division II member of the highly competitive Peach Belt Conference, is currently accepting applications for its next baseball head coach. The head coach will provide a clear vision for the program that is consistent with the traditions and expectations of the university mission and the athletic department. 
 
• Develop, oversee, organize and direct a strategically competitive baseball program at the conference, regional and national level. Responsible for the overall coaching, management and administration of the program to include evaluating and recruiting, tournament and practice scheduling, player development, and facility planning and utilization. Develop and implement a recruiting plan to successfully recruit both regionally and nationally.  Provide oversight to a roster management and recruitment strategy that offers an equitable experience to all student-athletes. 

• Administering and teaching all phases of training and fundamentals for a successful program in accordance with NCAA, PBC, and UNG rules and regulations. 

• Maintain a high level of contact with and communicate comfortably and effectively with administrators, faculty, staff, student-athletes, parents, alumni and donors. Participate in and support department and program fundraising, promotional and public relations events, campus and community outreach and service projects. 

• Provide each student-athlete with the resources and leadership to develop to their full potential while excelling in the classroom and preparing for successful lives after graduation. Develop quality student-athletes within a successful program while maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism. 

• Oversee the appointment and supervision of the program staff to include assistant coaches and graduate assistants. 

• Prepare and manage program budgets following all policies and procedures set forth by the University. Manage programs within operational and scholarship limits. 

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or designee.  

  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

• In-depth knowledge of baseball at every level, including junior, collegiate and professional.  

• Knowledge of latest trends in baseball training methodologies and technologies. 

• Outstanding leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.  

• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences. 

• Ability to think strategically and to develop a strategic plan.  Highly organized with superior work ethic and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced organization.  

• High ethical standards and ability to relate work with a diverse faculty, staff, students and other publics. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 
• Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred. 

• Professional and or collegiate playing or head coaching experience. 

• Proven success in recruiting, evaluating and coaching at the collegiate level. 

• CPR and AED
