Director of Creative Services - Athletics

The primary role of this position is to serve as the primary content designer for the Department of Athletics. The position will provide brand management and photographic/video/multimedia services required for content creation and implementation. The position will provide leadership and assistance in the creative and visual storytelling direction for UNG's 13 NCAA intercollegiate athletic programs, through digital marketing, digital media, video, photo and graphic design. The position will collaborate effectively with the marketing team and work cross functionally to achieve department goals. Facilitates the mission, policies and procedures of UNG, the Peach Belt Conference, and the NCAA. Incumbent is frequently away from assigned work desk/phone due to official UNG work responsibilities or travel and requires real time communication with others.

  • Strategically develop visual assets to support and enhance videoboards, social media campaigns/graphics, digital content, the Nighthawk Sports Network and general department branding. Manages a student-work staff.

  • Oversee all graphic design, while working with marketing team to define brand look-and-feel on a seasonal basis.

  • Work in conjunction with the senior leadership team to champion, respect and expertly communicate brand guidelines and logo usage. Uphold all branding guidelines and identity standards.

  • Manage the department's multimedia asset catalog.

  • Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses and attending training and/or courses.

  • Contributes to the overall success of the athletics department by performing other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. One year of creative content experience required.
