Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

Position Summary

Responsible for providing support in the administration and management of ticket /program operations for Athletic Department events and sponsored events. Provides administrative support for ensuring the program operations of the Ticket Office and access to Home UNC athletic events are executed in compliance with the policies, procedures and core competencies of the Athletic Department. Responsibilities include assisting the Assistant Athletic Director in preparing and analyzing computer supported ticketing and database systems and provide prompt and accurate information to customers and members of the Athletic Department, as well donors, staff, students and guests. Must communicate effectively with many groups in order to verify payment for tickets and all internal invoices. Assists in compliance with all policies and procedures governing parking passes, credentials, tickets and complimentary admission passes. Must apply the policies of the Athletic Ticket Office in a manner consistent with University, ACC, and NCAA regulations.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Demonstrated organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; customer service skills; the ability to multi-task; experience that demonstrates the ability to organize office functions and maintain an efficient and effective office environment.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Experience with Microsoft Office products and Paciolan or other ticketing software. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and experience in an intercollegiate ticket office environment.

Required Licenses/Certifications

Valid NC Drivers license.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements

Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs with or without accommodations. Extensive computer use in a high volume, high stress environment. Ability to stand for long periods of time with or without accommodations. Must be able to work in dynamic and sometimes stressful situations. Keen attention to detail. Travel required.
