Nevada Athletics seeks candidates for the Assistant Athletics Director, Major Gifts.
The Assistant Athletics Director, Major Gifts is responsible for securing major gifts for Nevada Athletics, as well as, being assigned various projects and tasks. The position will actively manage a defined portfolio of major gift prospects and donors by guiding their cultivation, solicitation and stewardship while also growing the base of major gift support through establishment of new relationships.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Manage a portfolio of 80 -150 individuals, corporations and foundations prospects that are assigned with the UNR Foundation
Manage an additional portfolio of season ticket holders of 50-100 individuals.
Solicit and secure gifts of $10,000-$1,000,000 or more.
Cultivate and steward relationships with individuals who are prospects or donors of Nevada Athletics.
Oversee the athletics department’s implementation of a comprehensive gift acknowledgement program.
Be a sports liaison for the development team, sharing information with coaches about the development and engagement process.
Assist with administrative tasks when needed within the athletics department, including attending events, representing department in community.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years OR Master’s Degree and two (2) years of related professional work experience.
Related Experience: Fundraising experience which includes demonstrable experience with individuals in either a higher education, athletic development operation, sales team, or other profession that required the candidate to uncover prospects, make outreach, and meet face-to-face to cultivate and solicit prospects
