The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), an NCAA Division I institution and
member of the Mountain West Conference (MWC) invites applications for a
Senior/Associate Athletic Director, Compliance and Student Services. This role reports directly to the Senior Deputy Athletics Director, Chief Operating Officer and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the NCAA Compliance office. The position is responsible for managing the entirety of the NCAA compliance functions, implementing a robust education platform, and enforcing NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations for student-athletes, coaches, staff members, and donors. Furthermore, the position will maintain student-athlete files and records while handling required NCAA and MWC reporting. Additionally, this position has oversight with respect to NCAA rules and regulations primarily related to financial aid. This position should have strong knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment.
Finally, the role will provide ad hoc reporting on compliance functions to the Director of Athletics, Senior Deputy Athletic Director, and University Counsel as requested.
This position provides leadership and support to internal and external constituents and supervises other compliance staff, graduate assistants, and interns. Supervision
includes assigning specific duties, training, and evaluating. This position will also serve as a member of the Athletics Senior Staff, which involves strategic planning and communication for the department, representing the department at events, and
administrative functions as directed by the Director of Athletics. The role will also serve and/or chair several athletics committees, which include but are not limited to: Student-Athlete Welfare Advancement Team (SWAT), Scholarship Committee, Alston Committee, and Drug Testing Committee. The position will serve as the primary athletic liaison with the faculty athletic representative, the office of student conduct, the registrar, admissions, financial aid, and student academic support services. Lastly, the position may have an opportunity to be a primary sport administrator, pending experience and interest.
