Director of Event Management

Responsible for recruiting and hiring on-call event staff. Coordinate the schedule, work assignments, and supervision of on-call event personnel. Directly supervise staff and resolve problems during events and coordinate and ensure all staffing/facilities needs are met for all events. Daily management and oversight of scheduling software for on-call event staff. Responsibility to serve as the visiting team liaison on football game days as well as overseeing all areas of the stadium and on-call event staff supervisors. Serve as the game administrator for Men’s Basketball. Assist in event management duties for all other sports. Participation in all post season conference and NCAA events which could include tournament director responsibilities. The selected candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience in college athletics or other related athletics environment. Supervisory experience required. Computer skills, communication skills, and strong organizational skills are essential. Ability to adjust during an event to meet changing needs is necessary. Ability to work evenings, weekend and holidays.

Preferred qualifications: Athletic Division I work experience preferred. Game administrator and/or lead event manager for a sport averaging 3,500 or more ticket sales per event. Experience in managing an on-call event staff data base of 75 or more workers either internally or through a third-party provider.
