Assistant Director, Athletic Communications

Position will serve as the primary communication contact for hockey and a variety of sport programs. Travel for an assigned sport/s away games and post season. Responsible for the production of game notes, statistics maintenance, fostering social media growth and home game management. Responsible for maintaining website pages for assigned sports. Plan and coordinate media days for UNO sports which includes communication with local news media. Field and coordinate all media requests for assigned sports. Collaborate with the Athletic Communications and Marketing team to maintain brand standards. Will need to have an understanding of StatCrew and other stat software.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Communications, Journalism, or related field

  • Two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience
