This position monitors the academic progress of assigned student athletes and reports to the Associate Athletic Director – Student-Athlete Development. Meets weekly with assigned student athletes. Records and maintains accurate documentation of student athlete degree progress. Coordinates tutoring and Educational Assistant services for student athletes, which includes hiring, training, supervising and evaluating tutoring staff. Support and connect student athletes to resources with personal, social and behavioral problems that may be affecting his/ her educational situation. Assist in the facilitation of incoming student athlete orientation. Assists in Summit League and NCAA award nominations. Helps in planning and executing the Mav Awards with the help of SAAC. Updates academic and athletic awards in Hamilton.
This position will also direct and lead the areas of student-athlete personal/professional growth, career development and personal leadership. Within these responsibilities, they will facilitate career exploration/experiences, as well as be the lead administrator for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Mav Leadership. They will identify and coordinate appropriate speakers and development events to positively impact the student-athlete experience.
