Athletics Operations Coordinator

The University of Mount Union seeks an energetic and innovative candidate to fill this 10-month salaried position.  The coordinator will assist in managing compliance needs as well as assist with NIL requirements and coaching.  

Responsibilities

  • Compliance Coordination 

    1. Work with the athletic department to implement NCAA, Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), and University of Mount Union regulations

    2. Help deliver education programming and support related to NCAA and OAC rules, policies, and regulations to the athletic staff.

    3. Assist the compliance officer with managing, preparing, and completing compliance documentation

    4. Assist with monitoring efforts on athletics-related activities such as recruiting, student-athlete academics, student-athlete employment, eligibility, roster management and financial aid.

    5. Assist with developing procedures and protocols to prevent NCAA and OAC violations

    6. Assess, evaluate, and when needed, revise and/or develop compliance policies and procedures

    7. Monitor camp and clinic policies and procedures

    8. Assist with managing investigations and reporting problems related to NCAA and OAC regulations

    9. Facilitate monthly updates on student-athlete academic performance, eligibility status, billing, and financial aid.

    10. Supervise graduate assistants and/or student workers, when applicable

    11. Work with counseling services to provide mental health programming for athletes and coaches

  • Name, Image, and Likeness Coordination 

    1. Utilize Opendorse NIL portal for student-athletes

    2. Train and educated student-athletes on Opendorse utilization

    3. Communicated the Mount Union NIL policy to all athletes during the administrative sessions at the start of each school year

    4. Manage the NIL disclosure submissions to the Mount Union NIL Committee and communicate back to the student-athletes on approval, modifications, or rejection of disclosure

  • Potential Coaching Activities 

    1. Provide practice, training, and game day support

  • Professional Development 

    1. Engage in a robust professional development agenda

    2. Reflect on the ways professional development activities enhance leadership development

    3. Connect professional development activities to day-to-day job responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required

  • Required two-year commitment from recipient for this grant

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

  • Strong ethical character and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proficient with technology applications applicable to the position

  • Possess efficient organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Reliable and punctual attendance

  • Must pass a background check

Descriptive Information

Uphold the high professional standard of conduct expected of each person on campus as outlined in our Employee Handbook.  Build positive interpersonal relationships in and out of the athletic department by attending University functions, both social and professional; staff meetings; faculty meetings; serving on committees; etc.

Along with base salary, this position will be provided University housing and a meal plan.

Candidates must commit to a two year agreement. This is a grant funded position.

This position is required to complete assigned University compliance training as communicated by the University.
