Assistant Director, Grizzly Scholarship Association

The Assistant Director assists in the day-to-day operations of the GSA and will be expected to attend Grizzly sporting events and community events both locally and statewide. This position will provide our donor base with exceptional customer service and efficient communication. You will be instrumental in supporting our goal of providing student-athlete scholarships to our Grizzly Student Athletes.

Athletic Department employees and those University employees outside the Athletic Department with NCAA rules compliance responsibilities are subject at all times to NCAA Bylaws 10.1 and 11.1 regarding ethical conduct and the responsibility to positively contribute to a campus culture of NCAA rules compliance. Failure to conduct oneself as such will result in disciplinary or corrective action up to and including immediate discharge.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development & Implementation of the Annual Plan

  • Special Events – timelines, budget, promotion, short-term/long term goals, sponsorship opportunities: Montana Wine & Beer Festival GSA Spring Tour GSA Golf Tournament Auction GSA Tailgates

  • Communicating with donors via email, direct mail and phone calls Minimum of 25 phone calls per day

  • In person donor meetings, Two (2) per week

  • Development & Implementation a social media plan

  • Assist with sports specific giving

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience in college athletics/professional sports fundraising or sales

  • Experience in planning and executing special events

  • Effective communications skills (written and oral)

  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with a diverse group of constituents

  • Must be able to work under deadlines

  • Knowledge of internet and communication technologies/social media

  • Demonstrated record of possessing a high degree of integrity and commitment to men and women’s athletics and to the values of inclusivity and diversity

  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and respond quickly and professionally under pressure and in a very open and public environment 

  • Must be able to work nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or advanced degree
