The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking to hire an outgoing, motivated, and team-oriented individual to serve as an Assistant Director of Event Management. This position will support and assist with the operations, logistics, and event management of Mizzou’s men’s and women’s sports programs and external events.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the setup and breakdown of home competitions and external events.
Hiring, training, scheduling, and general supervision of part-time staff, student interns, and volunteers.
Serving as the event manager for assigned men’s and women’s athletic events. This will include leading operations meetings with the necessary department personnel and maintaining pre-competition communication with the visiting team, conference office, and game officials.
Assisting with managing outside events hosted by Mizzou Athletics, including concerts, high school state championships, Special Olympics, etc.
Developing and maintaining visitor’s guides and assisting with hotel arrangements, for visiting teams as necessary.
Coordinating with opposing teams for practice times and any other necessary pre and post competition logistics.
Maintaining current knowledge of SEC and NCAA rules and regulations related to game management.
Reporting any potential SEC and NCAA rules violations to the Director of Event Management and Compliance Department.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
