Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Experience

Role Summary

Identifies marketing opportunities, supports the development and implementation of marketing plans, and edits the work of lower level staff in support of athletics marketing goals.

 

The Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Experience is responsible for providing strategic leadership, vision, and execution of comprehensive marketing initiatives that enhance the Ole Miss Athletics brand, increase attendance, drive ticket sales, and deliver a world-class fan experience. This position oversees a dynamic team of full-time staff and graduate assistants and collaborates closely with external and internal partners to elevate the profile of Ole Miss Athletics across all platforms. 

Examples of Work Performed

•    Lead the development and implementation of 365-day marketing plans for all varsity sports. 
•    Manage all official marketing properties including the athletics website (OleMissSports.com), digital marketing platforms, social media channels, traditional advertising, and email marketing. 
•    Develop and execute revenue-generating marketing strategies in collaboration with the ticket office, development, sponsorship, and NIL partners. 
•    Oversee community engagement efforts and on-campus promotional programming to grow fan affinity and student involvement. 
•    Utilize data analytics to guide decision-making and optimize campaign performance across digital and traditional platforms. 
•    Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a staff of four full-time employees and three graduate assistants. 
•    Coordinate all aspects of game production for home football games, including scripting, in-game direction, sponsor activations, and in-venue presentation to enhance the fan experience. 
•    Serves as a liaison with rights holder for sponsorship activation. 
•    Manages advertising and promotions budgets. 
•    Monitors game day experience and provides feedback for enhancements. 
•    Coordinates game day activities for sporting events, as well as, game day experience for fans including championship events. 
•    Analyzes revenue and fan experience data and presents findings to senior leadership team. 
•    Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. 
•    Serve as the liaison between the University of Mississippi's Marching Band (The Pride of the South) and the Ole Miss Athletic Department.  
•    Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletic Director of External Engagement or the Senior Deputy Athletics Director. 

Minimum Education/Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience:  (3) Three Years Experience including supervisory experience (in Athletic Administration or related field)

 

An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.

Preferred Qualifications

•    Five (5) years experience 
•    Proven experience in campaign development, game production, and digital strategy 
•    Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills 
•    Ability to thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environment and work non-traditional hours including weekends
