The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking applicants for a 100 percent, Professional-in-Training/Internship (9584).
Program/Unit Description:
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, will have an internship program for 2025-2026 in a variety of areas throughout Gopher Athletics. Gopher Athletics maintains a broad-based athletics program and participates in the Big Ten and WCHA conferences.

All interns will participate in an on-going ICA intern professional development program where they will tour Twin Cities sports facilities and have Q&A sessions with organizational and industry leaders. Each intern will also be assigned a senior member of the Gopher Athletics staff as a mentor for the year. In addition, there is an opportunity to participate in our Intern Talent Share Program to gain experience in areas within Gopher Athletics that are outside of their primary responsibilities.
Supervisor: Matt Bingle, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country
Stipend: $20,000 for 24 pay periods - $833.33 bi-weekly
Term: July 2025 – June 2026
Required Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree
● Track & Field/Cross Country Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
● Background in Graphics, Social Media,
● Experience in Athletics
● Experience with Sprints-Hurdles-Jumps-Multi’s
Internship Description:
You will be supervised by the Director of Track & Field/Cross Country. You will have an initial period of observation, followed by supervision as needed. Review will happen on a daily basis. You are expected to ask for assistance when needed. The Program Staff will mentor this internship. A general description of the internship opportunity is found below.

● Assist with Travel for Recruiting and Competition

● Assist with Home Competition Meet Management
● Assist with Recruiting Coordination
● Assist with Program Operations
