Account Executive (Ticket Sales)

Position Overview

This role is responsible for generating revenue through the sale of season tickets, mini plans, and group tickets while providing a high level of customer service to fans, donors, and community partners. The position emphasizes outbound sales efforts, relationship building, and service excellence. The Account Executive I will develop foundational sales skills, maintain accurate records of customer interactions, and contribute to the overall growth of the athletics ticket sales program.


Duties and Responsibilities

·         Persistent sales of season and group tickets through lead generation, cold calls, and client referrals. This includes daily phone calls, emails, texts, LinkedIn messaging and setting up face-to-face meetings with current and prospective clients

·         Make a minimum of (60) outbound touch points each day to new leads, past customers, and single-game buyers with the goal of generating new ticket revenue

·         Lead potential prospects effectively through the sales cycle in order to convert opportunities into sales or confirmed appointments

·         Generate strategies aimed to cultivate relationships with niche groups within the Houston market, including youth sports, schools, community organizations and other special focuses

·         Create, promote, sell and implement a variety of groups/group nights

·         Provide exceptional customer service with every guest, partner, and client interaction, including Intimidators home games and non-baseball events.

·         Ensures that personal sales goals and objectives are met in accordance to all NCAA, Conference, and departmental rules and regulations.

·         Assist with game day staffing of events while actively engaging and creating meaningful relationships with prospects and clients

·         Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and event days

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in collegiate athletics, professional sports, or ticket sales environments

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Paciolan) and/or CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce)

  • Previous experience working in a goal-driven or commission-based sales environment

  • Demonstrated success in customer service or client-facing roles

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse audiences

  • Ability to provide high-quality customer service in a professional manner

  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
