The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Men's Wrestling for the 2025-2026 term, with a potential renewal for 2026-2027.
The University of Dubuque is a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the American Rivers Conference.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze performance and instruct athletes in wrestling techniques and strategies in preparation for and during athletic competitions
Assist the head coach in the coordination of administrative areas of program management including, but not limited to, scheduling of competitions and practices, travel plans, and equipment
Assist program with all phases of competitive NCAA and ARC compliant recruiting
Assist with monitoring academic progress of all student-athletes on the team, in connection with the coaching staff, compliance coordinator and athletic director
Execute practice and meet planning/evaluation, including video coordination and breakdown
Manage equipment usage
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's Mission
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program
Working knowledge of NCAA Division III and Conference rules and compliance
Valid driver's license
Flexibility with schedule (ex. evening or weekend commitments)
High level of organization and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Prior coaching experience and/or prior experience as an athlete
Effective communication skills; both orally and written
Proficiency in graphic design, social media, video, and all relevant software
All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week. Additionally, this position has the ability to receive campus housing and a meal plan or hourly compensation for duties/hours in addition to the required twenty (20) hours per week.
