Athletic Communications Assistant

The University of Connecticut is seeking qualified candidates for a paid full-time internship position in the Athletic Communications Office. The intern will serve as the primary contact for the volleyball, women’s lacrosse and track and field/cross country programs and will assist with other programs including football and men’s and women’s basketball.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree; previous media relations or collegiate sports information experience; knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; excellent organizational, communication and public relations skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in website maintenance highly desired; previous experience with desktop publishing software as well as Photoshop highly desired; working knowledge of the NCAA Live Stats statistical software package, specifically for volleyball, basketball, football, ice hockey, and lacrosse; ability to work athletic events, irregular schedules, weekends and evenings are required.

 

This is an immediate opening.

 

Appointment Term:  This position is a 12-month appointment. Following administrative review, the position may be renewed for a second term.
