The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Development to join our Athletics fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic fundraising plans, managing a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, and assisting with the execution of major gift action plans to achieve our Advancement goals.
Responsibilities:
Manages comprehensive solicitation strategies and portfolio of prospects, including targeted solicitations of $50k and above, cultivation, and stewardship of gifts. Secures, plans and engages in face-to-face donor visits.
Assists with the strategic development, execution, and management of major gift action plans toward the achievement of Advancement goals and objectives in accordance with NCAA, IRS, UCFAA and UCF Foundation rules and regulations. Includes market research, volunteer recruitment, effective communication and solicitation activities, and cultivation/retention programs.
Assists with the development and coordination of a progressive communications and solicitations program to donors and prospects through direct mail, targeted appeals, e-information/e-solicitation, automated telephone solicitations/telethons, website management, and publications collateral.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the UCF Athletics, programs and priorities.
Prepare and direct preparation of major proposals, solicitation letters and other cultivation materials for prospects and donors.
Coordinates Advancement events programming, including, but not limited to: football/basketball game activities; coaches caravan; golf tournaments; hall of fame; signing day event; A.D. dinner; and annual gifts to donors.
Helps to facilitate coordination of premium seating for donors.
Manages volunteer representatives, sport-specific groups, varsity clubs, and other development groups as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in athletic development or fundraising especially within a collegiate setting.
Experience with donor database management systems such as Blackbaud CRM, RE NXT, or Salesforce.
Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising.
Experience in event planning and coordination.
The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Knowledge of UCF Athletics programs and priorities.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
