Director, #Brand Design

Under the direction of the Senior Associate A.D., #Content, this position assists in the management of the overall #Content unit within UCF, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations, and is engaged in the implementation and activation of organizational branding and fan development campaigns for 16 nationally recognized sports programs through the generation of progressive graphic designs / illustrations / motion graphics.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages full-time #Content designers as well as assigned design interns.

  • Oversees the graphic design request portal for UCF Athletics and assigns out projects to fellow designers and interns.

  • Collaborates with staff in the development, maintenance and advancement of the athletic department’s brand identity through original and creative design concepts for the organization as well as assigned sports / programs. Assists with the identification of opportunities to enhance brand identity where appropriate, and also oversees graphic design on facilities projects within UCF Athletics.

  • Researches trends / standards / best practices related to area of assignment, and produces original, creative designs and motion graphics covering a variety of print and web-based materials towards greater visibility and activation of target markets / fan base.

  • Includes, but is not limited to content for digital and social media / new media platforms (website, email, advertising, etc), as well as printed advertising / promotional materials (posters, programs, signage, large-scale facility graphics, etc).

  • Collaborates with external team (Brand Advancement, Strategic Communications, ChargeOn Fund, Corporate Partnerships, Tickets, and Video #Content) in generating greater awareness of the UCF brand and sport to enhance interest and attendance while maximizing overall revenue opportunities. Meets with Associate Athletics Director of #Content weekly to discuss priorities on projects

  • Engaged with gameday / event responsibilities relative to assigned sports and area of operations as needed.

  • Represents UCFAA, Inc. and UCF to the NCAA, Conference, other universities, Central Florida community, and the general public. Serves as liaison to various campus constituencies and serves on various campus committees as requested.

  • Other duties as assigned.
     

Minimum qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of appropriate experience. 

  • Appropriate graduate coursework or master’s degree may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to function in fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects and adhere to deadlines

  • Proficient computer skills including expertise in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
     

Due to the nature/scope of Athletics and Athletics events, position may require work during evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the ability to stand / walk for extended periods of time and occasional travel.
