Assistant Coach, Women's Rowing

UCF Athletics at the University of Central Florida, an NCAA Division I institution and Big XII Conference member, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Coach, Women's Rowing.   

The selected candidate will assist the Head Women's Rowing Coach and collaborate with the rowing staff in the coordination, guidance, direction, and supervision of the women's rowing program, with emphasis on academic and athletic excellence.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Provide instruction to student-athletes during practices and competition, including race management;

  • Evaluate athletic performance and develop / implement practice plans / schedules related to team concepts and skill development of student-athletes;

  • Collaborate with Academics and Knights Leadership Academy staff in monitoring student-athlete progress towards graduation and professional development;

  • Evaluates competing teams and assists head coach in the development, implementation, and adjustment of game / situation strategies;

  • Assists head coach in the administration of sport program, with daily oversight of budget, compliance, team meals, team gear, equipment purchasing / monitoring, and travel (team and recruiting) as assigned;

  • Coordinates marketing, public relations, fund-raising, and community outreach efforts for sport program as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year rowing experience at the collegiate level or above.  Prefer IRA / NCAA Division I rowing experience.  Previous work experience in an office setting or as a Director of Operations preferred, but not required.

Due to the nature/scope of Athletics and Athletics events, position regularly requires work on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
