Assistant Coach / Goalkeeper Coach, Men's Soccer

As a member of the men’s soccer staff, position assists the Head Men’s Soccer Coach in the coordination, guidance, direction, and supervision of the men’s soccer program, with emphasis on academic and athletic excellence. 

Responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide instruction to student-athletes during practices and competition, with emphasis on goalkeepers.  Evaluate athletic performance and develop / implement practice plan / schedule related to team concepts and skill development of student-athletes.  

  • Counsel current student-athletes towards attainment of academic, athletic, and individual achievement.  

  • Evaluate and recruit (domestic / international) prospective student-athletes within UCFAA, Conference, and NCAA guidelines, with emphasis on goalkeepers.  Includes the establishment and maintenance of industry relationships as appropriate, as well as the organization of on-campus recruiting visits and admissions documentation.

  • Evaluate competing players/teams, and under the direction of the head coach, is actively engaged in the development, implementation, and adjustment of game / situation strategies.

  • Assist head coach in the administration of sport program, with daily oversight of budget, equipment, scheduling, travel (team and recruiting), community outreach, and fundraising as assigned.

Minimum qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year coaching / athletics administration experience at the collegiate level or above.  

Preferred qualifications:

  • Division 1 (or higher) soccer experience

  • Collegiate recruiting experience or multiple years coaching (HS or collegiate)

  • Goalkeeper coach experience  

Due to the nature/scope of Athletics and Athletics events, position requires attendance at scheduled games / matches, which regularly requires work during evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the ability to stand / walk for extended periods of time.
