The Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coach will be responsible for the men's and women's distance and mid-distance athletes. This individual will provide coaching expertise, leadership, management that results in a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience for the student-athletes.
Required Education an/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Master’s degree preferred;
Experience in Intercollegiate Athletics/Higher Education setting preferred;
Experience coaching distance/mid-distance at the NCAA level;
Experience recruiting student-athletes with outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement performance plans for men's and women's distance and mid-distance athletes for cross country and track events;
Recruit and evaluate high caliber student-athletes in distance and mid-distance events;
Coordinate travel arrangements for cross country and assist with track & field travel;
Log recruiting activity in Teamworks (Compliance & Recruiting Platform);
Assist with oversight of student-athletes academic support;
Perform classroom checks as necessary;
Acting meet director for any home cross country or track & field competitions;
Ability to promote an atmosphere of Compliance with NCAA, Ohio Valley;
Conference and UA Little Rock rules/regulations/policies;
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of NCAA, Ohio Valley Conference and UA Little Rock Regulations;
Ability to work nights and weekends with extensive travel.
