Academics & Student-Academic Support Services Associate

OVERVIEW

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (Little Rock Athletics) is seeking an Academics & Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) Associate. This position will have a variety of responsibilities including monitoring academic progress, aiding in the construction and approval of student-athlete schedules, helping to conduct weekly meetings with at-risk student-athletes and monitoring study hall on a weekly basis.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and track student-athlete progress towards degree for sports as assigned

• Meet with at-risk student-athletes on a weekly basis to discuss grades and class progress

• Assist student-athletes with various study strategies to improve academic performance

• Aid in reviewing class selections for assigned student-athletes

• Monitor study hall on a weekly basis as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree

• Experience with NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to academic eligibility

• Experience working with at-risk students in an academic setting

• KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Possess excellent written and communication skills.

• Possess excellent computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel)

• Maintain an appropriate degree of professionalism and confidentiality

Exhibit problem-solving and critical thinking skills
