Summary Of Job Duties

The Assistant Director of Digital Marketing is responsible for managing the athletics department’s email marketing and marketing automation strategy and execution to increase engagement and revenue. This position must have strong technical and communication skills to drive change through the organization’s ticketing and marketing technology platforms. They will be expected to remain current on e-mail marketing best practices including: automation strategies, nurturing campaigns, data capturing, and managing an entire year-round email calendar. In addition to the email marketing efforts, this position will assist with other areas of the digital marketing ecosystem such as: Analytics, CRM, data warehouse, mobile app and digital advertising. This position will report directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director – Marketing & Business Development.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business (accounting, finance, or economics), math (decision sciences, statistics, or analytics), engineering, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least one year of work experience in email marketing OR sports marketing OR ticket sales/CRM

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree with an emphasis in marketing or business from an accredited institution of higher education  

  • Experience with CRM, email marketing, and ticketing software

  • Experience with copywriting for email and marketing purposes

  • Experience with business intelligence or data warehouse platforms

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of database and digital marketing strategies support technology

  • Skilled and comfortable with copywriting for various marketing channels

  • Advanced organization, time management, and project management skills

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation and listening skills

  • Ability to work independently, set priorities and think critically

  • Ability to work well with others and comfortable taking initiative

  • Ability to work nights and weekends
