Chief Commercial Officer/Deputy Athletic Director - Administration

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for a Chief Commercial Officer to serve on the Executive team within the University Athletic Association. This position is charged with identifying, developing, and executing integrated strategies to enhance and maximize revenue streams through ticketing, sponsorships, licensing, Gator Boosters, merchandise, concessions, NIL opportunities, and special events. This senior leadership role works in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive growth, support the student-athlete experience, and align with the mission and goals of the University Athletic Association.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field*

  • Eight (8) years of related work experience*

  • Six (6) years of supervisory/leadership experience

  • Demonstrated success in creating significant and sustainable revenue streams, managing diverse revenue portfolios, negotiating high-level sponsorship agreements, and leading cross-functional teams

  • Strategic thinker and executer with strong business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset

  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Strong understanding of NIL landscape, fan engagement trends, and present-day athletic department organization and operations

  • Ability to foster relationships with corporate partners, donors, alumni, and other key stakeholders

  • Ability to work a non-standard work week which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field

 

*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of listed requirement.
