Established in 1904, the United States Tennis Association Pacific Northwest (USTA PNW) is a 501c3 non-profit organization working to promote and develop the growth of tennis by providing access for all. As one of the 17 sections of the USTA, the national governing body of the sport of tennis, USTA PNW serves more than 1.3M tennis players, 200+ tennis facilities, and provides low-cost RecTennis afterschool and summer parks programs to 40,000+ participants. USTA PNW has cultivated over 300 community partnerships including schools, public parks, recreation, and shared spaces across four states. USTA PNW is the largest employer of recreational tennis jobs in the Pacific Northwest with more than 500+ full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees annually, creating new tennis jobs within the immediate communities served as a core initiative of embracing diversity and inclusivity.

USTA PNW is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Digital Marketing Manager to join our growing marketing team. This position will work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications to develop and execute marketing campaigns that drive business goals forward. This role will contribute to existing marketing and events, while assisting with the development of new initiatives aligned with our mission and vision. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with a wide range of marketing functions, including social media marketing, email marketing, and graphic design. Attention to detail is critical for this role.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Marketing:
  • Create, edit, and post compelling and engaging content for all of USTA PNW’s digital marketing channels.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications to manage social media calendar.
  • Support the ideation and production of visual and written content for all social media platforms.
  • Build community and manage the social media voice of USTA PNW including live coverage of events, regular posting to social channels, and regular monitoring of social channels.
  • Create and edit behind-the-scenes phone content to showcase the USTA PNW brand.
  • Lead the social voice of USTA PNW; comfortable in front of the camera.
  • Ideate short-form photo and video content for social channels.
  • Produce monthly analytics reports that clearly communicate actionable insights.
  • Represent USTA PNW at 10+ sanctioned tournaments throughout the region each summer/fall, working non-traditional hours on these weekends.
Email Marketing:
  • Assist in the creation, execution, and optimization of email marketing campaigns using Adobe Campaign and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Build and test email templates, ensuring consistent design and functionality across devices and platforms.
  • Segment and manage customer lists to deliver targeted and personalized email communications.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions, etc.) and provide actionable insights to improve results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align email campaigns with broader marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure all email communications comply with best practices and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM).
  • Maintain accurate campaign documentation and reporting.
  • Conduct A/B testing on different campaign elements to optimize results.
  • Identify and troubleshoot campaign issues, ensuring seamless delivery and customer experience.
  • Responsible for elevating experimentation, including collaborating to design new operational processes, training programs, and operational-support mechanisms for marketers and internal operators.
Graphic Design:
  • Lead the production of new marketing materials and templates for business units.
  • Design marketing materials for social media, websites, emails, signage, and advertisements that align with brand identity.
  • Support colleagues with diverse skillsets to navigate the internal marketing request process, ensuring a cohesive visual brand identity across the organization.
  • Utilize graphic design software including Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects) for basic design and editing tasks.
  • Balance high-quality and high-volume production to advance the brand.
  • Maintain brand guidelines and meet deadlines.
Miscellaneous: 
  • Work with the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications on messaging and communication priorities.
  • Support the execution of weekly website updates including editing copy, blog posts, images, videos, links, etc. 
  • Utilize webpage builders such as Wordpress, Squarespace, Adobe Experience Manager, etc. to maintain modern, mobile-first websites that share a cohesive look and feel.
  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation.
  • Elevate digital channels through elite storytelling, strategy, and execution.
 
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive digital marketing experience; sports and/or non-profit experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Social Media Marketing:
    • Background in social media management in a university or professional environment.
    • Strong combination of educational and professional experience spanning several years is preferable. 
    • Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
    • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices to communicate effectively.
    • Experience with Facebook Ads Manager.
    • Understanding of social media marketing best practices, audience development, and communication strategies.
    • Passionate about consuming social media and presenting innovative ideas.
  • Email Marketing:
    • Familiarity with Adobe Campaign, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and similar email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Braze, Hubspot).
    • Experience with marketing automation tools and workflows.
    • Understanding of email marketing best practices, segmentation, and personalization strategies.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.
    • 3+ years of experience with a focus on a/b testing, multivariate testing, segmentation, and/or personalization.
    • Strong Marketing Technology and CRM execution competence at scale, ideally with the Adobe and Salesforce suite of solutions.
    • Experience with HTML/CSS for email templates.
  • Graphic Design:
    • Knowledge of Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for basic design and editing tasks preferred.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Serve as marketing liaison between business units and resource development team.
    • Experience with webpage builders such as Wordpress, Squarespace, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.
    • Resourceful mindset with the ability to solve problems in a dynamic environment.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities: The Digital Marketing Manager does not directly supervise any USTA PNW team members.

Conditions of Hire:
  • This position serves the Pacific Northwest Section (Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and parts of Idaho). It is strongly preferred that this role remotely be based out of Oregon and Washington state boundaries.
  • Must have the ability to continually pass a background check. 
  • Must complete the USTA Safe Sport online education course. Eligibility to be SafePlay approved and remain SafePlay approved through tenure at USTA PNW. Link provided with offer of employment. The initial online course takes approximately 90 minutes. 
  • Authorization to work within the United States administrated by a 3rd party vendor.
  • Must sign the USTA PNW Offer Letter, Employee Handbook, and all required policies and procedures upon hire and as needed. 
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • This job operates out of a home office environment (preferably in the PNW boundaries including Washington and Oregon). 
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. 
  • This position will sometimes, but not often, need to work evenings and/or weekends based on event calendar and needs. 
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with reasonable accommodations given. 
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. 
  • The ability to carry out repetitive motions regularly.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • $75,000-$80,000 Annual Salary (dependent on experience) + year-end bonus potential. 
  • 18 days of Paid Time Off annually.
  • 12 Annual Paid holidays each calendar year.
  • 401k eligibility per plan rules (up to 4% company match, after one year of employment) and/or ROTH 401k.
