Football Director of On-Campus Recruiting

The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA), founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the varsity athletic programs of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy. Through an intercollegiate athletics program that is one of the largest in the country, every midshipman is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at the Division I level. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.

 

Summary

This position is responsible for directing the on-campus recruiting efforts for the Navy Football program to include the planning, coordination, and execution of all official and unofficial recruiting visits. This includes prospect travel, lodging, meals, creation of individualized itineraries, and campus tours.  Assists the Executive Director of Recruiting and Analytics in the development, implementation, and daily management of a comprehensive program for recruiting prospective student-athletes.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all on campus visits and tours

  • Create individualized itineraries for each prospective student-athlete visiting Navy Football

  • Supervises the coordination of prospective student-athlete travel

  • Communicates with both PSA’s and their families regarding their visit to Navy Football

  • Coordinates guided tours with PSA’s and their families.

  • Assists in the coordination of all complementary recruit tickets to home football games

  • Responsible for distributing host money for official visits

  • Responsible for decoration and preparation of football facilities and athletic spaces for all on-campus recruiting events

  • Works closely with the Director of Recruiting and the Assoc AD/Football Chief of Staff in regards to all recruiting logistics, including official and unofficial visits.

  • Works closely with the Director of Football Creative Design to refine a recruiting specific social media strategy

Qualifications

  • Experience, Education, & Certification(s)

    • Bachelor’s Degree required.  Master’s Degree preferred.

    • Experience at a Division I FBS or FCS institution

    • Experience planning and executing both official and unofficial recruiting events

  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

    • Must be proficient in various recruiting software platforms (e.g., ARMS, Whistle)

    • Must have the ability to work in large groups and individually

    • Must have great communication skills

    • Must be able to lead large groups of people

    • Must have the ability to coordinate and schedule large events

    • Working knowledge of all NCAA compliance rules and regulations

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America, without sponsorship.

  • Must be eligible to work on a military installation, including a willingness to submit to a background screen.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • This is an in-person position. 

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Should be able to lift at least 45 pounds

  • Should be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Will be asked to work in inclement weather including rain and extreme temperatures

  • Will be asked to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends

  • Sitting for extended periods (typically 6–8 hours per day)

  • Hand and finger dexterity (e.g., typing, using a mouse, handling paperwork)

  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements (e.g., keyboarding, data entry)

  • Cognitive focus and mental stamina (e.g., prolonged concentration on tasks)

Travel

  • This job requires travel with the Navy Football team. There will be overnight and weekend travel.

Pay Range
