Duties and Responsibilities
Creates graphic design projects that relate to development initiatives
Oversees and leads the department in all graphic design initiatives
Works autonomously to ensure projects are completed on time and identifies new projects to further the Air Force Falcons brand
Serves as the principal graphic designer for projects from conception through production; researches, strategizes, conceptualizes, proposes, and designs creative projects for electronic, print, web, and interactive media (large wall graphics, posters, emails, social media graphics, signage, game programs, and video board graphics) and develops templates for posters, emails, social media and other marketing and communication collateral
As the head designer for the Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation, works with athletics staff to develop ideas and efficient design systems and brand standards to produce a large body of work within annually established creative guidelines
Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with professional organizations, administrators, coaches, and staff
Responsible for photography at special events and as needed
Oversee assistant director of graphic design and creative interns and manages all graphic design training
Participates in or facilitate planning meetings, review sessions, and brainstorming
Understands and adheres to a variety of department and Academy brand standards, NCAA and MWC compliance policies
Receives and provide constructive feedback on all design projects.
Reports to the Associate Athletic Director for Marketing & Fan Experience

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience
Skills in the utilization of specified computerized graphic design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects)
Knowledge of principles and practices of graphic design, layout, design, typography and file organization, and photographic requirements/procedures
Knowledge of printing procedures, requirements, reproduction processes and techniques
Knowledge of Athletics preferred
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to create and produce graphic materials using a range of media, methods, techniques, and equipment
Ability to analyze graphic and technical information and create interpretive illustrations
Ability to keep up-to-date on new trends and innovative approaches in the industry
Ability to rapidly prepare graphics to respond in real-time to emerging news and team performance/accomplishments
Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work outside normal working hours, including nights and weekends when required
Must be authorized to work in the US and successfully pass a background check.
